The Kaffe Bar Brand

On a cold wet and windy Thursday night last week the sleepy Northern Beach suburb of Mona Vale on our glorious Northern Beaches was lit up with the launch of the newly invented Kaffe Bar operation.

Kaffe Bar is the brainchild of veteran Sydney hospitality guru Michael Vale (Of Wood Fire Pizza Company-Murrays at Manly and Café Del Mar fame) and Manya Christensen, a local food enthusiast and long term resident.  This new establishment is designed and created to fill a much needed niche in the culinary desert of the Mona Vale CBD.

Vale travelled to see his old associates in his favourite New York Deli institutions in search of the perfect Reuben sandwich recipe. Armed with this vital information Vale worked with resident Kaffe Bar chef, Christopher Augustyn (previously head chef of the Public and the Munich Brauhause) and created the New York/Romanian classic with a beach twist, a dill pickle and pineapple salsa.

Proprietor Manja Christensen was delighted in the new venue reinvention, open for breakfast brunch and lunch daily and cocktails and dinner Friday and Saturday nights, and hopes to see a few more similar operations.
